As a consumer, be it in any way, such as food, clothing, or other items, when we purchase something, it is only right that we get the best product or service. This is because we are purchasing it using our hard earned money, and realistically thinking, we deserve what we have paid for. I have encountered many unfortunate events whereby being a consumer, i have purchased items that are low in quality. As for me, I am a heavy eater and shopper, therefore, food and clothing that are good in quality are vital to me. Having to say that consumers need to stand up for themselves and voice out their issues and rights if the product/service are not up to the standards being paid for. We as consumers truly deserve top notch quality and desirable items as we paid using money, because money are valuable on circumstances such as this.

There were several encounters whereby i stood firm on consumer rights. Firstly, the "S" coffee company . There was a time when i have ordered and purchased a frappuccino drink, and it was served diluted and slightly tasteless unlike the other times i've ordered, therefore, i have made a complained to the barista. He apologized and agreed to make me another new cup of my frappuccino. That is one of the positive encounters that happened to me using my consumer rights. This is because not only did the barista apologized, but he agreed to make me a new cup which i deserved.

Secondly, clothings. H&M. H&M is my favourite retail to shop and they do have top notch product and services. For example, H&M allows their consumers to return clothings within 30days/a month tagged with receipt and price tag if the purchased items do not fit. Hence, this is one of the consumer rights that H&M practices, that definitely has attracted me even more to shop in their retail.

In conclusion, consumer rights really are important and it should be practiced by both parties, the seller as well as the buyer. In order that both parties have mutual benefits, buyer should be firm enough to be able to make a complain if product/services purchased are not up to standards. Hence, this will be a wake up call and realization to the seller to improve themselves in order to gain recognition and good reputation from the buyer
