2.) My friends and I went to claim for free ice cream from one of the ice cream shop in Penang last month. The server's attitude was really rude (right after I said can we claim for free ice cream, his smiling face disappeared) and he did not allow my friend to claim for her ice cream because she showed him a screenshot of her message instead of the original message. We understand that might be their rule, but when we planned to sit down and enjoy the ice cream, the server said sorry you are not allowed to sit here, free ice cream is only for take away. There are only 2 tables of customers dine in there. We are actually very confused whether we can ask for our rights or not. Yes, we did not pay for the meal & service but it's the company that provide free gift for consumers to claim, so please tell me do I have the rights or not. Thanks

Yes, you were consuming the ice cream that produced by them, so that makes you a consumer as well. Regardless you paid or claimed for free meal, but serve the customers with courtesy is still their job. You have your rights to enjoy the good services from them. Hence, there is a way we can recommend to you. You may launch a complain to their boss or write in a letter and drop into their feedback box. If they do not take any action, you can even launch your complain to the organization that is collaborating with us right now. Consumers Association of Penang (CAP). We believe once you launch a complain to them, they will contact the shop for solutions immediately.
